I have a Heart Interface EMS2800 Ultra High Performance Power Inverter on on my boat. Vintage 1990-1991. I have a situation where the charging rate is staying up at 20-30 amps and not regulating down to minimum or trickle charge when the batteries are fully charged. I believe due to the overcharging, all 4 batteries boiled over sulfuric Acid. After clean up, I installed new batteries, they are fully charged and measure 12.5 volts (they show up at about 14v when charging on the gauges). I have had an experienced electronics repairman checking the boat and can find no other problem. I have turned off the charger and over multiple days, the batteries are still holding the 12.5V so I believe there is not any leak or grounding of the batteries which would require constant re-charging. I believe the problem may be in the EMS2800. Does this problem sound like it could be within the EMS2800 itself. Can it be repaired? If we sent the unit to you, can it be tested/repaired? Are there similar new units available? we would appreciat if you could contace me. Thank you very much.
