We have two Trumpf 500 punches (circa 1997) that both use the H&L controller 781 462-602. A problem developed in one that caused an initiation failure at power-up when the punch calibrated the tool height. we swapped controllers and the problem followed the original controller (although occasionally both punches would work for a short time after swapping but would eventually fail in the same way). Having isolated the problem to a particular controller I decided to swap elements of the faulty one to the good one, hoping to identify what is actually failing. My troubleshooting finally led to the backplane where the cards are seated as being the problem. I could swap it between machines and the problem would follow the backplane. My question is that there are very few active components on the board and I have swapped all but the three filter caps across the power supply (they measure good). Have you run into this as a problem before and what might it be and can you repair this or sell us a replacement backplane?
Thanks for your help in this. I am pretty much at the end of my troubleshooting rope at this point.
