I have a two axis DRO on a Bridgeport mill, model CJX201.
It previously had a problem with the display which resolved itself after I opened the case a blew it out.
Now I've got nothing. I came into the shop to find it unplugged [still don't know who unplugged it or why; i.e. was is smoking or something?!]. This was after a couple of power outages, incidentally.
Anyway, I plug it in and nothing. The fuse isn't blown. I opened it up again and checked for power as best as I could. The power supply is getting juice and is putting out a few different voltages, depending on which leads I connect to. They vary between 3VAC and 13VAC. Not sure what it's supposed to be, since the user manuals and schematics for these things are lost to the ages. Nothing looks obviously burnt out in there, either.
I also noticed that the pizzo does make a little noise when I move the scales, which it always has, but nothing when buttons are pressed on the front.
The display is completely dark.
Any insight? More importantly how much do you think it'll cost to fix?
I've got $300 into this thing and I'd like to salvage it, but if it's gonna be too much I'd rather just upgrade to a 3-axis DRO that can do some fancy stuff, like bolt holes.
