I just got off the phone with Donna and bored her with my story. Quick version is I have an Anilam Crusdar II CNC controller that gives me an error code 38 when running the loop-back test of the RS-232 port. I shorted lead 2/3 & 6/20, ran an AUX 2740 START and got the error message. Everything else works on the Anilam as far as I can tell (have been running routines by inputting through conversational mode).
I'm going to try pulling the board and cleaning the connections with a pink pearl eraser and isopropyl alcohol first. If that doesn't work, I'll be giving you another call.
Any ideas on what the repair might run? I realize it could be as simple as a bad capacitor or maybe a shot chip that's no longer available, so it's just an estimate.
